1:00pm [1:00pm-4:00pm] Love the Skin You're In ... Girl Scouts offer a fun, savvy skin care & self-este
Description:
The Girl Scouts of Western North Carolina is presenting a 4-session program this summer for middle school age girls facilitated by Anne Willis, A Skin Care Specialist, and International Spa Educator and Consultant. The cost is just $25 (which includes a Girl Scout membership) for the 4-session course to be held at the Girl Scout Program Center (64 WT Weaver Blvd. in Asheville). Class dates are:
Saturday, June 14 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm
Thursday, June 19 from 4:00 – 5:30 pm
Thursday, June 26 from 4:00 – 5:30 pm
Saturday, July 12 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm

Students will explore their own definitions of beauty and use magazines to create a story about themselves and their self-image. They’ll learn the basics of how skin functions; how diet, emotions, hygiene, stress, and environmental factors contribute to skin problems; as well as discover safe, healthy and effective treatments.

Using ancient philosophies, students will learn the art of face mapping to understand the root causes of skin problems, and how to prevent problems and care for their skin to achieve a complexion they are proud of. Girls will also make their own skin care products from safe, natural and affordable ingredients, and make enough product to donate to women in living in an abused women’s shelter.

The program culminates in an exciting career exploration/community service project, where girls work alongside a local professional “aesthetician” who will donate treatments to abused women and/or cancer patients.

There is room for only 15 girls in this program, so register early to ensure your space. Please contact Pam Burrell at 828-252-4442 or 800-522-6280 (NC toll-free). If you have questions, email Patsy Rodriguez at prodriguez@girlscoutswnc.org.
