SAVE THE FRENCH BROAD paddle trip Description: Join us for the 2nd annual Save the French Broad paddle trip taking place June 18 to June 28. Come be a part of our rainbow-colored flotilla of canoes and kayaks as we explore the French Broad River, paddling from Headwaters Outfitters in Rosman to Hot Springs, NC. Take in the sights and learn about water quality as we travel 119 miles of one of the oldest and most scenic rivers in America. For more details visit www.savethefrenchbroad.com. Waterkeeper Members receive a $15 discount per week, $5 discount per day. 4th of July Activities at Chimney Rock Park Description: Dates: Jul 3rd - Jul 5th Celebrate the 4th of July holiday with us at Chimney Rock. We'll have a cookout on the Sky Lounge patio - pick up a hot dog, chips and a drink for just $5 (tax included). Plus, our featured entertainer John Mason will be playing the hammered dulcimer on the upper parking lot near Cliff Dwellers. On Saturday, join Education Specialist Emily Walker to meet some of Park Mascot Grady the Groundhog's animal friends. Drop by Grady's Discovery Den on the Meadows any time between noon and 2pm to get an up-close-and-personal view of snakes, turtles and even an opossum. Visit chimneyrockpark.com for more information.
