Join Us for an Unparalleled Experience.
The natural wonders of the North Carolina mountains, like the arts themselves, evoke powerful feelings and uplift the human spirit. Western Carolina University’s Bardo Arts Center channels that emotion and provides a fresh and inspiring venue for world-class performers and artists. Here is the focal point where all of the disciplines of the arts come together to inspire, to engage and to excite audiences and artists alike. Join us for some of the highest caliber performances you’ll ever experience.
The elegant 1,000-seat performance hall, with its finely-tuned acoustics and state-of-the-art lighting system, plays host all year long to a series of arts events by regional, national and international guests. In this setting, you’ll be transformed as the lights go down and the artist takes the stage. Imagine the silence of rapture during a concert, the moments of shared emotion upon a dramatic twist of plot or the post-performance buzz in the lobby. Anam Cara Theatre Company aims to produce progressive work that provides audiences and company members alike, with an experience that makes evident the eternal connection of all humanity, in turn promoting social change, and striving for the equality of all people.
We find value in all of the arts and strive to produce an eclectic mix of work that is not exclusive to simply traditional theatre. We often incorporate music and art, as well as the written and spoken word into our productions, creating a unique blend of multiple art forms, achieving a distinctive aesthetic that sets us apart from other theatre companies.
