* What: Organicfest 2009 ~ celebrating everything organic (and green!)
* When: Sunday, September 13
* Time: 10:00 am ~ 6:00 p
* Where: Battery Park Ave, downtown Asheville, NC
* Why:Organicfest, one of the nation's largest regional organic festival (www.organicfest.org), will celebrate National Organic Harvest month on September 13th in Asheville, North Carolina, on Battery Park and Otis Streets by the historic Grove Arcade. Everyone is invited to attend this annual event, now in its 8th year, open from 10 AM to 6 PM. Organicfest is a special environmental project of the Imagine Center, a local non-profit dedicated to promoting organics through educational and fun events. The Organicfest is co-sponsored by Asheville Parks and Recreation and an array of local, regional and national businesses which promote healthy, organic foods, organic and green products and sustainable business practices. The finest organic foods and refreshments will be available. Environmental organizations will share information and provide help with organic living, organic gardening, organic farming and other earth care matters. Activities will include live music, dancing, organic food demos, drawings for organic goods and gift certificates and the festival will again feature the popular Organicfest Kids Garden at 1 PM.
* Special Note: The Organicfest is presented in September to celebrate National Organic Harvest Month. The organic industry is one of the fastest growing, consumer driven industries in the United States. This special event, (co-sponsored local and national businesses and organizations) is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate, highlight and promote the pure, organic food and products available in our community, create a connection to the people who grow and supply organic, and find out why organic is good for people and the planet !
