Michelle Tyson Pottery

I have always loved objects that are hand-made.  It feels like some of the energy of the artist lingers.  I was attracted to pottery because making pots out of clay is magic.  An object is made from a very pliable material, then it is put into a fire, and it comes out fixed.  It cannot be changed any more.  I graduated from Haywood Community College with a degree in production crafts.  In 2002 I was accepted into the Southern Highland Craft Guild.  I am a potter only part-time, though, because I am also a nurse at the Buncombe County Health Center.

I make small to mid-sized fired stoneware.
