You’re invited to one of Our VOICE‘s most impactful events of the year:
You are invited to our 3rd annual Break the Silence Speaker Series event and fundraiser. Each year, Our VOICE strives to bring a national leader, survivor or activist to our community in order to bring awareness to the issue sexual violence, to empower survivors in our community, and to let people know that Our VOICE is here to support all people in our county who have been impacted by rape or sexual assault.

In doing so, we hope to bring the energy of a national movement to our mountain home to rally support for survivors right here in Buncombe county, reminding them that they are not alone, that Our VOICE is here, 24/7, to support survivors in crisis and to stand by them throughout their healing journey.

We also want to underscore the importance of moving from a moment to a movementMe Too and Time’s Up are more than hashtags, they are calls to action. By bringing national leaders to Asheville, we are continuing this vital conversation while shifting norms and attitudes in our culture and in our community.

Amber Tamblyn is an amazing woman: She’s a co-founder of the Time’s Up movement, a survivor, bestselling author, an actor, poet and an outspoken voice for women across the globe. Amber Tamblyn is a life-long advocate of women’s rights and equality, and she speaks to the importance of believing survivors. We hope that her message will remind survivors that we believe them and that they are not alone!

Thank you and I hope to see you there,
