Our Mission & Values is an effective media platform for local WNC businesses that want broader marketplace exposure 24/7

Our focus is on women’s lives, education, & health, local community, business & finance, the arts & writing, and sustainability & the environment. We feature articles that bring attention to current information that impacts women and families within the context of gender, race, education, and economics. Special interest is in the areas of social & economic justice, because we believe that how it goes for women and families determines how it goes for the community at large.

We value and have as our guiding principles, ideals in the areas of diversity, creativity & balance, collaboration, kindness & compassion, sustainability & environmental preservation, that challenge greed, exploitation and domination.

We value the distinctive character of Western North Carolina people and locally owned businesses. Through SheVille’s unique media platform we have opportunity to envision and help create a local community that works toward equity, diversity and sustainability.

As an online media presence since 1997, SheVille has experienced tremendous change and growth over the years by listening to what readers want to know about and want to offer. In 2005, we purchased and trademarked the right to use the name “”. We re-purposed the magazine into what you see today.

By supporting local business we also help create and maintain jobs that keep revenue right here at home – revenue that provides regional, social and economic stability throughout WNC. (Purchase a GO LOCAL Card today !)

SheVille’s Commitment to our Local Community:

Our commitment is to provide information that energizes a vision of a better world—a world of inclusion, equality, kindness, generosity, and support for good ideas, good intention and good work. We are open to new ideas that contribute to this and we encourage you to share your ideas with us; those dreams that move all of us to become better at what we do, who we are and want to make happen.

In order to have the staff to keep SheVille up-to-date we need sponsorships through advertising and donations of time and ideas. We also ask you to spread the word by introducing people to SheVille by sending to anyone who might be interested. If you like what you read and want to participate in SheVille in any way please let us know.  You can contribute ideas and support through advertising with us, asking your friends to advertise with us or by sponsoring a special interest page.  Monies are spent for loan repayment, research, marketing, yearly system upgrades and ongoing technical management.

On the HOME PAGE at the top right you’ll see a box that lets you subscribe to Femme Spheres, the SheVille News. For inquiries, please call Rain at 828.338.0217 with advertising requests, or for general information call/email Jean at 828.275-1718  [email protected]

SheVille Focus Group:

Our focus/advisory group members provide us with their content ideas, suggestions and requests for content.  The SheVille focus group is what we like to call “liquid and informal”…got it? Members are people who have knowledge/experience in these areas: Women & Children Education, Wage Equity & Employment, Reproductive Health, Maternal Health, Gender-based Violence, Racial & Gender Equality, Climate and Environmental Sustainability.

We assess where we’re going and what changes and new ideas need to be implemented.  The task, of course, is limitless and that’s part of what makes it fun.

If you have an interest in being a part of a SheVille focus group or have other ideas to share, please write and let us know, we’re interested! [email protected]
