*WNC WRITERS (and readers): Malaprops virtual Writers at Home Series with student writers from Asheville School

From Lilly Augspurger and the Great Smokies Writing Program.

Hi Great Smokies Friends,

Our February session of  virtual Writers at Home will be held this Sunday, 2/21 at 3:00, and will feature student writers from Asheville School. As always the event is free to attend, but please register in advance–we hope you’ll join us!

Our 10-week Spring classes started this week, but there’s still time to register for our 5-week classes starting in March! We have seats available in all three classes: Intro to Feature Writing, Transcending Mediums, and Black Poets of the 20th & 21st Century. As always, please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions during registration.

Write Here.  Write Now.

Welcome to the Flatiron Writers Room – providing a brick & mortar (and now virtual) hub for the Asheville writing community.

(…OK, for right now, write at your place (unless you’re a Co-Worker)…but we’re still here…providing a link to the greater WNC writing community — through our Online Classes and Workshops, monthly Newsletter, and Co-Working space).

We hope to be back in our space in 2021, but in the meantime please visit us, support us, and add your talents to our ever-growing mix of students and faculty online!

Located at 5 Covington Street in West Asheville’s vibrant Haywood Road corridor, the Flatiron Writers Room provides space for writers to learn, teach, read, celebrate and, of course, WRITE.

The Flatiron Writers Room is an outgrowth of the Flatiron Writers, who have been writing and providing workshops and events for the western North Carolina writing community since 1993.

We host Flatiron Writers Room Workshops, Events, and Co-Working space for writers; in addition, our space is available for rent to writers who want to teach, host a book launch, or hold a writers’ group or book club meeting.
